i have 2 questions regarding the QuickPwn:

1: If i use QuickPwn to jailbreak my official unlock iphone 3G from italy(firmware 2.1 model MB496T), will I be still be able to get updates from Apple in the future? or i will lose the jailbreak and need to jailbreak it again? and is it possible to restore my iPhone to the official firmware?

2: As i found in the dev-team site that any update is included baseband update, what can an update for the baseband affects my iPhone?

Just go ahead and use Quickpwn, I do the same. once a firmware upgrade is out you can restore to it. You will loose then jailbreak status and Cydia apps but the iPhone will still be unlocked. You'd have to wait then for a new quickpwn version that takes care for the jailbreak again.

You dont have to care for baseband upgrades cause your iPhone is factory unlocked and will remain that way. the Dev Team's note was for those users having a locked 3G.

Dude, is the jailbreak with the QuickPwn Affects the battery life and/or carrier signal for an official unlock iphone?

How can I examine that my device is factory unlocked or not?
I can connect to iTunes and download, install some free Apps on my phone.

and you will find out that the iPhone is from Vodafone Italy or TIM Italy -> factory unlocked

If it is an iPhone from Italy (looks like, I have the same one) it will remain unlocked forever.

the model number on my iphone 3g is MB496B, how do i know it is factory unlocked. I get the apple logo and not the pineapple logo you normally see on an software unlocked phone.

I have a question. My iPhone model is MB489T. I see that the factory unlocked mentioned here are MB496T/A - so it's with /A at the end. If mine is MB496T without the /A, it means it's not the factory unlocked version?
