The /A is only written on the original box/packaging for the iPhone. I don't think that the phone itself ever reports the digit after the slash.
The best way is to test this yourself. Aviegas provided instructions on how to test this safely and without restoring the phone. http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/18095...htm#post654851
