Problem after restore/jailbrake of 3G - "No Service"
I've been restoring a 3G iPhone i bought in Canada. It has been unlocked with a i-smartphone unlock card.
Since i restored my 3G and jailbroken it with Quickpwn, my iPhone became unusable as phone. It's telling me "No Service" instead of the carrier name.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
edit: damn, I just saw the thread in General Talk section (http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show....php?t=57762#1) telling not to update to 2.2 if you have a unlocked 3G iPhone. Think I will put my sim card in an old mobile untill DEV Team found a solution to that problem :-)

Well, problem is that we made an update of the baseband too. Since our iPhone has been unlocked for the *sim-card, we shouldn't have done a restore with iTunes, like they said in the tutorial on iClarify. So we have to wait untill Apple makes a new baseband update, OR till the dev team finds a software unlock.
With other words, our iPhone is unusable till then :-( Hope it won't take to long, cause I'm missing my iPhone already :'-( :'-(

some of my friends have updated their baseband as well. they have sim solution as well and had to get new sim solution for their upgraded iphone.
not the best solution but they needed to use their phones.

blkmini, can you plse give us some more info, cause I need my iPhone too!! It's really a shame to have such a nice tool which you can't use as phone :-(
Do they still can use EDGE / 3G?
Thanks in advance!!

I have iPhone 3G firmware 2.2
If I use Quickpwn 2.2 to jailbreak my iPhone 3G and got the "No Service" or other issues.
Can I use iTune to restore my iPhone 3G back to original state to make my iPhone work again???

there is going to be a 3g unlock solution available ( see the home page)
but not sure if it will help downgrade the baseband ... for 3g 2.2
you guys will need to do the sim unlock again ......
im not familiar with the complete process my self ...but if you look around you'll find enough info....
good luck....
iphone 2g at 3.0 using unofficial sim
