Okay last question. Well i know most people say to jailbreak it when using turbosim, and I do know that you don't have to jailbreak your iphone to use the sim unlock adaptor. The only thing with not being jailbroken and using the sim unlock adaptor is that if you ahve sim unlock adaptor and connect to itunes, you can not sync your iphone to itunes. I understand that. I also know that you can sync it back to itunes if you put the original sim card back into it's place.
So does anybody here that is NOT jailbroken and have tried using the sim unlock adaptor and later put in back to the original sim card? Does it work?
Need a little clarification.
If I already have 2.1 installed and have lots of apps already installed,
Do I need to restore fresh and Quickpwn ?
Or can I just Quickpwn right away and not worry about apps already on phone?
All the tutorials I have seen talk about updating to 2.1 and then Quickpwn.
And yes I have google and searched this forum and have not found this particular question.
Thanks
Some queries..
My status: Iphone 3G firmware 2.0.. using T-Mo with x-sim. Itunes can't sync(invalid sim)
Edit: I want to upgrade to 2.1 firmware & jailbreak. Also, want to unlock (later when avail).
Q1. Can I put phone in DFU and restore to 2.1 firmware ?
Q2. Will I be able to get out of the activation part after I restore using itunes or QuickPwn.
Q3. Will QuickPwn be able to detect & jailbreak the phone (itunes wouldn't activat after restore & report invalid sim) and activate too..
Q4. I read the OP msg saying that ppl should not update to 2.1 if they plan to unlock in furture.. since the update wud update the modem firmware as well.. That sticky seems old.. BUT does that still hold true ?
Help greatly appreciated !
