Softbank are not GSM - nearly all 'piggyback' SIMS fail on 3G, Iwould doubt if you can get one that would work on Softbank.
If FW 3.0 is unlockable via yellowsn0w you should be OK when it's released.

hey bro im here in japan too yokosuka to be exact...look i have a softbank 3g iphone upgraded to 3.0 jailbroken and unlocked, i recently went to california where i purchased a tmobile prepaid phone with sim and used it just fine and i then returned to japan re inserted my softbank ( purchased plan) sim and still it works just fine. i recommend jailbreaking and unlocking it if u wish to use it back stateside
look yall japan has its own wireless network right using only 3g and au does something else backwards as well so as not to be able to use their phones with other companies unless ur roaming which gets pretty costly outside of japan....these great people have made it really easy to just simply jailbreak and unlock ur iphone so that it may be used anywhere ya know....instead of trying to go around it just get in it . i mean ive tried everything for my iphone and come to love the jailbreak for the apps and accessibility and whatnot and i also love the feeling of being able to go to say korea and pop in their sim and use it or guam or uk or taiwan....yes stateside too. jailbreak and unlock and if ur so worried about any kind of warranty simply Dont replace the boot logos and ( b4 u take ur phone in) hide the jailbreak apps ie.cydia, installer, icy ect.
Bootneuter wont load it says determining current settings for a long time then it goes to to a new box saying can not make or receive calls to restore i dont know what to restore i cant unlock the phone until thats done
can someone help me PLEASE!!!!
Thanks
Why are you using Bootneuter?
Assuming it's a 2G phone and you haven't bricked it, just use RedSn0w.
