New to 3G always had 2G.. please answer a few questions
Hi all, i am new to the iPhone 3G scene..had a 2G since the UK launch but broke that... my insurance company provided me with the cash to get a 3G PAYG one... now.. i am on o2 but not with an offical sim.. no here are the questions
can i just activate it with my sim using itunes and it will be fine? (i think i can)
as i am with o2 i dont have any intention to ever unlock it so can i always use the latest baseband? (again i think i can just wanna check)
is the jailbreak methos exact the same (quickpwn)
Thanks in advance
SEARCH!!! Its really not that hard!!

- if the service provider is authorized for Iphone then you should be able to activate it via itunes. Not sure here because i'm not in UK
- don't say never :-). You may want to unlock it later on for fun ... (If so, don't update the baseband using the latest 2.2 fw)
- Jailbreak can be done via quickpwn.
If you have mac, use pwnagetool because you can prevent the baseband update even with latest firmware. Note: BB unlock is coming out very soon so think about it.

Yes any O2 sim will work with 3G.
connect to itunes and you will be activated.
If you have no intention of ever unlocking then 2.2 is ok for you.
