Upgraded 2.2.1 from 2.1 accidentally, now deactivated. How to recover?
My niece accidentally upgraded her previously unlocked iPhone 2G in iTunes to 2.2.1 from 2.1.
Now the phone is on emergency screen but she still can make and receive calls using dial pad. All other options are not available. iTunes does not recognize the phone giving the error message SIM not compatible.
I think it has been deactivated, am I right? What is the best way to recover from this situation? Now that she has upgraded to 2.2.1 can she just start from Step 3 of tutorial iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your 2.x.x 2G iPhone Using QuickPwn (Windows) and just use the options "Add Cydia" & "Add Installer" without using "Unlock phone" option?
Any help is much appeciated. Thanks in advance.
