    Just for sharing, some of you might have already known about it.

    After winpwn 2.0.2, install iTunes 8 to update to 2.1. Reboot your PC and iPhone.

    From here, continue with Quickpwm2.1 with the 2.1 Restore.ipsw. You DON'T have to uninstall iTunes8, Apple Device, and Install iTunes 7.7 again to start the Quickpwn2.1 process.

    I had problem with Quickpwn2.1's quitting after installing iTunes 7.7. But with iTunes8, strangely, Quickpwn 2.1 works flawlessly and the rest is history.

    I remembered that quickPwn doesnt work too well through a USB hub. Now when my phone boots there is no logo. It does boot. But the custom pineapple or the apple dont show up... I just get a black screen that glows until the icons come swooping in.

    I do see Cyndia though. Though I had asked for Installer to be included but I dont see it either. Altho that may be cause I had it and Camera poofed before I upgraded. Yes that was dumb I know.. But now I can fix it.
    1.1.4 iLiberty+ -> WinPwned -> BootNeuter -> Custom Pwned to 2.0 -> Upgrade to 2.1 -> QuickPwned
    -> Restored to 2.2.1 -> WinPwned -> Upgrade to 3.0 -> Redsnow'd

    IMHO, here's no need of uninstalling iTunes 8.

    if you want to be on the safe way
    - uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (ver. 2.1.0.25),
    - extract Apple Mobile Device Support (ver. 2.0.1.5) (.msi) from iTunes 7.7.1.11 with WinRAR or similar and
    - install this MSI package.

    after JB'ing you can/may/should(?)
    - uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (ver. 2.0.1.5) and
    - reinstall Apple Mobile Device Support (ver. 2.1.0.25).

    BTW, KUDOS to vikram for his useful work here in this forum!

    I don't see any reason for doing all that... For me it simply worked this way:

    1) Download 2.1 firmware
    2) Restore with itunes (alt+restore)
    3) run quickpwn
    4) Enjoy

    From an unlocked and jailbroken 2.01 that was really slow and laggy, went to a really fast 2.1 following OP's instructions to a tee. Everything works except for Winterboard which i did not installl as i heard it still has some issues. I can live with the default springboad for a few days!

    for the past two hours, and it's still 50% !

    The results really are mixed...

    On my iphone, I just shift-restored on Itunes 8 and it worked. It was previously pwn'd 2.0.2.

    On my wifes...well I've tried everything...multiple PC's with different versions of iTunes and still I get a 160x error. What gives? I can't even restore back to any custom FW. I'm stuck with an unactivated phone. How do you fake activate 2.0+ FW?

    The only difference between Quickpwn+iunes7.7 or 8.0 was that I saw this error popped up at the starting of Quickpwn process with iTunes 8.0 due to different version of Apple Mobile Device that comes with 7.7 and 8.0.
