    I already have iTunes 8.0.1
Do you really need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes?

as long as you have installed the new itunes already previously you do not need to restart.

just update or restore to 2.2 then use quickpwn to unlock and/or jailbreak if you have previously installed itunes you wont need to restart at all. if your installing the new itunes for first time then yes you will need to restart.

i updated my iphone with itunes then used quickpwn that i extracted to the desktop and it worked fine after 2-3 mins i had my phone fully unliocked and jailbroken, minus the 3rd party apps i lost which are easy to download again, update worked fine for me and everything was how i left it. gotta love the update

All this is unnecessary just follow the old tutorials for FW 2.1; after you update iTunes first. (or see the thebigboss.org or iclarified.com)

(To moderator, may I suggest you delete this thread, it could be confusing to newbies.)

Everything seems fine in this tutorial except for uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. The rest seems right.
