Default Some questions about upgrading to 2.2

    Hello Hackint0sh

i have a 2G iphone PWND with winpwn on 2.0.2

now i need the newer apps like sim city which is for 2.2

at this site i read the procedure for unlocking the 2G phone

    http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/6106...nte-he-say-yes

and it says "iPhone 2G (1st Generation)

Update or Restore your iPhone 2G with iTunes then run QuickPwn to do the magic, ‘nuff said, you don’t need to worry about anything.
    "

is that it ? is it all i gotta do to go from 2.0.2 to 2.2 ?

if yes then i will try it

    NOW !

will i loose all my previous apps ? music or other data ? while doing that ?

    thank you
    Deepz

Yes that's all you need to do

If you update you shouldn't loss any settings or Appstore stuff but you will need to reinstall third part applications installed throw Cydia/Installer

I tried to update to 2.2 as well as restore to 2.2 but iTunes 8.0.2 errors out with error 14.

Tried this on a Vista and XP notebook. iPhone is currently running 2.1 connected directly to notebook USB port.

    Any ideas what is wrong?

I even tried shift-restore to 2.1 stock (and it is showing awaiting activation) and then immediate put the iPhone in DFU and then do a restore to 2.2.

    Again error 14.

    Please help.

Restore is recommended, but you can hit the upgrade button instead

If you have cydia intalled ... Then you must already be jailbroken .....
And the update option mentioned is in iTunes not in quickpwn

    FYI
A restore is recommended .... If you are using an official carrier .... Simply restore and activate and jailbreak installing cydia instaler ..... Skip the unlock ...... After this you can restore to the backup of your iPhone in iTunes

Although I must mention setting ur iPhone as a.new phone is recommended .....
Btw what data are you trying to save by not restoring
