    6 Hold down the SHIFT key and click RESTORE
    ==> Has DFU mode or recovery mode been mentioned before doing 6th?

    My 2G iPhone was bought with PayGo sim (2nd hand/used, locked on O2 ebay)

    Started it all up with 2.2 firmware and used for about a week (paygo)

    Upgraded firmware to 2.2.1 and unlocked/jailbroke (as above)

    No DFU or Recovery Mode prior to point 6

    All working fine with Vodafone and downloads from CYDIA

    Oh and if you get the message "iTunes cannot pair with ..", at any point, sign out of iTunes, remove and re-install iTunes

    11 Run Quickpwn.exe
    12 Follow instructions, the timings are not that critical, if you make a mistake, cancel, restart iPhone and start again from (11) read the instructions on the screen to get ready for the next button holds
    13 When quickpwn states its all finished, leave the iPhone alone to complete and restart
    14 Start up iTunes
    15 Setup as NEW PHONE (important)
    16 Synchronise
    17 Turn iPhone off and insert another carriers sim to test
    18 Done
    With step # 5 you say itunes ...is this the newest iTunes 8.0.2 ?

    I guess anyone could answer the question about iTunes ...do you use iTunes 8.0.2... i believe is the Newest iTunes.

    working with 2.x firmware always use the latestversion of iTunes what is 8.0.2 as of now.

    Thank you for the information....loading iTunes 8.0.2 now...

    Quickpwned windows XP from Fw 2.0.1 to FW 2.2.1

    Phone is restored ...up and running with new Firmware and the New iTunes.
