Purchase the apps from the appstore and install via iTunes? :p

Is it advisable to upgrade to 2.0.2 as normal in iTunes first, THEN use this guide for QuickPWN? Some say to do that first in order to keep all settings and App Store apps intact. But, this guide makes no mention of upgrading as normal first.

Yeah, what is it that they refer to when they say "we don't have to do this if we already have a PWN'ed 2.0.1 device"?

I did succesfully update from 2.0.1 (unlocked, activated, jailbroken by Winpwn 2.0.0.4) to 2.0.2 using QuickPwn. The result is unlocked, activated and jailbroken with Cydia and all applications remaining.

However, the big problem is now all add-on applications that require sound have no sound. Such as a game and the VoiceNotes. For example, VoiceNotes can be run, record and save. But when I want to play that recorded sound it just play without any sound. The game I mentioned has also the same problem; I can run everything OK execpt the sound of the game.

iPod player however is working fine. It has the sound of musics

Does anyone have the sameproblem?????

i am having this issue as well, lock and slider no longer make any sound

Can someone please tell me exactly how QuickPwn works such as the processes it undertakes in Jailbreaking and Unlocking?

Well not exactly sure what you mean, but essentially it's a batch file (NOTE: Just read after posting that Poorlad added a GUI, but guessing the root of the batch is still there). You give it a IPSW native, and the batch will add cydia tars and jailbreak. You will have to use DFU restore, but the batch has step by step instructions. Recommend you launch a command prompt before you start vs. doubleclicking the batch.

The key to QuickPwn is that you have to have the same firmware installed that you are jailbreaking. meaning if you are going to use QuickPwn with a 2.0.2 jailbreak, then you should restored/upgraded 2.0.2 on your iPhone before you use QuickPwn.
Some others say that you don't need to upgrade, but there are small problems reported that may or may not be related to using QuickPwn to do small "upgrades" (say from 2.0 to 2.0.1 or 2.0.2). So your choice. However QuickPwn is definitely NOT an upgrade program (say 1.1.4 to 2.0).

so basically if you have a not legit iphone that is already unlocked and jailbroken you can upgrade without restoring or losing any files and having to backup?!?!


or is it better just to wait for winpwn? i like the idea though of not having to restore and upgrading so quickly

Hello all. First of all ty for the very simply and easy tutorial.

I was running 1.1.4 so decided to try the QuickPwn. It was very easy. Everything happened as the tutorial described.

I'm still learning Cyndia, never used that before. looks very fine and stable here.

Just one problem noticed. after the update to FW 2.0.2, youtube won't work.

It's like it need a fix as before. Was searching in both Cyndia and Installer, but seems there's no fix for that.

Anyone get the same problem ? There's some fix ??
