I used the iClarified tutorial went from 1.1.1 to 2.2 than did the sync with the old data all worked fabulous, THANKS!!!!
2.1 and want 2.2
i have a 2G iphone on 2.1....its unlocked and jailbroken before from using quickpwn.(worked flawlessly last time)
i was just wondering if i need to tick unlock this time round when i do the method again? or leave it unticked?
or should i just do it exactly like how i did it last time round but restore it with 2.2.
help would be awsome guys
I've run the quickpwn several times. Each time I put in my T-mobile SIM card, it won't run. On the upper left corner it says "T-mobile E"
and tells me to connect the phone into the iTunes again. What can I do?
note the iclarifed has two separate guides one for 3g phones and one for 2g phones.
Use the right firmware or you will run into problems.

Ok I got it all sorted.
But now my wi-fi is not working.
It would seem there are a lot of guys having the same problem.
All the solutions sugested expect you to somehow ssh into the phone.
Im in India and there is no 3G or GPRS unless you take out a special $$ plan with the provider.
I have a simple request to the developers of quickpwn.
Let us have a switch to manually do what we need with bootnuter.
It would save us all a lot of trouble.
Of even if you did that do I understand Im still shafted unless I go back to 1.14 ?
iphone don't recognized sim card
When I put in either my AT&t or Tmobile simcard,It does not recognized the card and see the itunes connecting logo. What should I do. Then when I started Quickpwn, it does not see the IPSW on the second step. Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Had my 2G iPhone on 1.1.4 since last April and surely been missing out on all the 'good stuff' available on 2.2, so now I am ready to update using quickpwn2.2. Before i do that, can someone please show me how do I backup my contacts in iPhone? By updating to 2.2,I know I will lose all my apps and songs currently on the iPhone which I can reinstall but not so for my contacts if I had to enter them again! Unless I am mistaken or missing something, does iTunes still contains all my music originally put on iPhone? Thanks for your help.
your music is managed by your itunes library....if you have your library in place , you can put your music back on the phone.....
as for the contacts and calendar entries ...just sync them with windows adderssbook/outlook on your computer.....you can also use google and yahoo address books to sync these but you might end you mixing your email address with you mobile address...
hope this was helpful....

iphone 2g at 3.0 using unofficial sim
changed commboard at 1.1.4
Please confirm your eMail or contact staff!
This version of QuickPwn can only jailbreak devices with versions >= 2.0
(I'm posting here but it might go in another thread.)
You get this message when you try to jailbreak an iphone 2 using quickpwn 2.2 because QuickPWN doesn’t detect the right firmware on the iphone.
So - how did I get into this situation
1. I have an iphone 2G with 1.1.4 on it
2. Using itunes I upgrade the phone to 2.2 with firmware downloaded from
(the summary page of itunes confirms that I have 2.2 running)
3. Starting QuickPWN 2.2, it notifies:
"This version of QuickPwn can only jailbreak devices with versions >= 2.0"
Any clues ?
My iphone is dead in the water .
