So I recently acquired a 1st generation iPhone from my brother...it was originally jailbroken and unlocked(not sure with what, but it wasn't quickpwn), and I think it was version 1.1.4..

now it was working fine, but a foolish me decided to update my iPhone to the latest firmware..and seeing that QuickPwn 2.2 was released, I thought it wouldn't be a problem to jailbreak and unlock it again.

so I downloaded QuickPwn 2.2, and i followed the tutorial on iClarified...downloaded the original v2.2 ipsw firmware file..saved it on the desktop...shift+restored iPhone using that firmware...iPhone successfully restored...automatically rebooted, saying that the SIM in the iPhone is not a valid SIM..

so then i open quickpwn; it detects the iPhone, but then when I try to select my firmware, it hangs at this screen:


the circle thing next to the address keeps spinning(which means it didn't freeze), but i never get the green check mark or the blue arrow....

i've tried closing it, and restoring my iPhone in DFU mode multiple times...also tried using v2.1 instead of v2.2 firmware, but still didn't work..

even tried directly using itunes' restore (no shift+restore), and although quickpwn manually found the ipsw file, it still hung at that spot, and I still couldn't get a blue arrow

hopefully someone can help me with this, i've spent hours trying to fix this but in vain..

p.s. i'm using a windows vista, itunes 8.0.2

this might be a long shot but do you have .net framework 2.0 installed ....that might be what is causing the problem ...worth a try...
and when you run quick pwn does the itunes shutdown automatically...( that is what it should do by the way)

and try using another pc.... i use it with win xp ..

hope you figure it out man...
