I'm on a New MacBook and iMac, will not enter in dfu... I'm stuck with error 21. BTW, is there a way to run through the dfu procedure on the iPhone once it's on restore mode?

Make sure that you are using the correct quickpwn. There are two; one for mac and the other for windows.

with quickpwn does that allow you to keep all your settings and apps and sms messages etc on your phone without restoring as im currently on pwned unlocked iphone 2g(1st gen) with firmware 2.1
would i be able to just upgrade to 2.2 in itunes and use quickpwn to jailbreak and unlock/hacktivate it

That's what's backups are for and not PwnageTool nor QuickPwn.
