[QuickPwn][2.1] QuickPwn should be a bare-bones jailbreaker
I don't get it. I've always used PwnageTool until now, but I never installed Cydia or Installer. All I needed was Jailbreaking (access to root directory). So QuickPwn seemed perfect for me. Except that I just discovered that QuickPwn installed both Cydia and Installer without my permission. So basically I need a custom firmware in order to avoid them. Please give the user the ability not to install Cydia and Installer!
Can I just delete them via DiskAid or do I have to restore a custom firmware to get back to "purity"?

Cydia was always a nightmare to delete fully
May be quicker to create a custom firmware without em and restore again.

If I haven't run Cydia, then it could simply be deleted from /Applications, couldn't it?
What's the point of custom firmware if one isn't going to install 3rd party apps?

im sure u can just ssh delete it, but it should be noted cydia is the preferred installing app for 2.x.x and installer for 1.x.x
installer has less apps than cydia

I guess the Dev Team looked at what the majority of people want from Quickpwn & decided the two installers are essential for most folks.
Anyways... I’m not sure if Cydia installs on the first run or not, but I would imagine if that’s true BSD isn’t installed and I think OpenSSH needs BSD to run.
If Im right that will make SSH deleting Cydia without running the application hard work.

That's why there's DiskAid

I stupidly did a restore to Apple firmware and my phone was deactivated and re-SIM locked. I thought restores weren't DFU restores?!
So now I have to use PwnageTool?

I simply want a jailbreak + install ssh. From there I can do anything else I want (like install apps manually or deploy my own code to my own device).
I agree it would be nice to not have Cydia and Installer on there either. I like installing apps from my desktop.
Any reason QuickPwn couldn't have an option to give us that? Am I the only one who wants this?

You can't have ssh without Cydia, which actually includes its own BSD subsystem. But I still think there should be an option to include the installers or not.
