[Problem] Unable to restore
Hi, sorry but I didn't know which section to post this, so trying my luck.
Trying to help my friend with his bricked iPhone. Basically this phone is unable to be restored. Have tried restoring it on iTunes 7.5 with fw 1.0.2, it just keeps giving error (4). When attempting to restore on the latest iTunes with fw 2.2, it just gets stuck endlessly in the "Waiting for iPhone" part. Have tried doing it in both DFU mode and Restore mode.
Possible causes: Friend used ziphone 3.0 to put it into DFU mode. (I'm not sure if that's the cause, just wondering)
iPhone Info: 2G, OTB 1.1.2, before all these problems, it was unlocked on 2.2 via Quickpwn but bricked with the no service problem due to ziphone in the past.
Sorry for the lenghty post, hope someone can help. Thanks!

you can try to downgrade your iphone to 1.1.4
And then Downgrade your baseband
And then go up to 2.2
or
Good luck
other thing if u r on a mac running mac os x 10.5.6
P.S.: Stay away from ziphone.

Thanks for the reply! I'm stuck at the first tutorial; downgrading to 1.1.4..
I've been stuck at the "Waiting for iPhone.." message for about an hour.

problem solved! I don't know how though, I kept using itunes 7.5 to restore to various firmwares and finally it worked, on fw1.0.2. relieved!
