Default [Problem] [Error 1011] iPhone stuck in DFU, haven't seen anyone else with this issue!

I have a pretty screwed up iPhone, with a unique set of issues I haven't seen before, and I'm hoping someone can help!

Unfortunately, I don't know the full history of this phone, as I got it 3rd hand from a cousin.

To the best of my knowledge, its past looks like this:
    • Unlocked using an unknown unlock method at or around 1.1.4 (whatever this method was, it caused crashes and freezing, so ZiPhone or worse?)
    • Instructions were followed (to the best of the previous owners ability) to upgrade to 2.0.1 pwn'ed, which put it in its current state.

Now I don't think that the previous owner did anything wrong when they tried to pwn it, except that it probably needed a virginization of some description.

The phone is currently permanently stuck a the black (as in un-lit, blank) screen, and restoring gives 1011.

I've tried restoring to virtually every FW version (1.0.1. 1.1.3, 1.1.4, 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.1 to name a few) from each of the appropriate itunes versions, but because I'm in DFU and no image restores successfully, I never get to a usable phone where I could do any of the fixes I've seen mentioned (JSN1's, etc).

As for trying quickpwn/winpwn/other tools on the phone, the times I've gotten to the point where they connect to the phone, they all crash, both on win and mac.

I'm currently trying the freezer method that I read about here, but I'm not confident that it will work.

Any suggestions on how to either fully fix the problem, or at least get out of DFU mode so that I've got a iPhone touch?

At least then I'd have more things I could try!

    Thanks!

U should find it in the General iPhone Forum.

There are ways to fix it like testpoint.
Or uploading to 2.1 sometimes works.
    and much more solution
that sometimes work and sometimes dont.

    Thanks for the reply,
I know a lot of people are having the 1011 error, and unfortunately like a lot of them, even 2.1 does not work.

I think mine is a little different than most because if you didn't have the iphone plugged into the computer you wouldn't even know that it was responsive. I get nothing on the screen (at any stage), where it seems that most people can at least get the restore screen.

I haven't really made any progress since my post. Everything I try seems to fail, so if anyone has any new ideas to at least get a responsive phone, let me know!

    That's right...
If it wasn't for it installing drivers and initiating itunes when plugged in, it would look completely dead. I think it's a corrupt bootloader, as that's the only thing I can think of that would cause this behavior, but I can't say for sure.

It's recognized, and the dfu drivers install correctly. It just doesn't come back to life after the flash.

I've tried 2 cables on 2 machines (Plus I use my working iPhone on one of them daily)
