Modified QuickPwn [temporary 2.2 solution]

I was looking all over for a method to activate my 2.2 iphone, and saw someone posted a "method" (forcing quickpwn to use the 2.1 file), but when i attempted that method quickpwn kept crashing when iTunes tried to restore the phone.

To ease the pain, and rather frustrated, I just patched over QuickPwn's good/bad firmware detection and repacked it.

Breakdown:
The QuickPwn EXE supplied originally by the DevTeam is just a self extracting 7zip archive (i'm shortening this down for lazy purposes). It temporarily extracts the encrypted files to a directory, and launches the true quickpwn executable. After quickpwn is closed, the original extractor wipes out the temp files and your left a happy jailbroken/unlocked customer.

What your getting here is a RAR of the extracted files, with the pre-patched executable.

I just tested the activation / jailbreak on my iphone (fresh restore to 2.2) and it worked without any problems.

Simply go into 2.2 (upgrade/restore/whatever) and when choosing the firmware file choose the 2.1 firmware file, then just proceed as usual.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A "HACKED" UP SOLUTION. AS REPORTED, THE ACTIVATION WORKS 100%. THE JAILBREAK WILL PLACE THE CYDIA ICON ON YOUR DEVICE, BUT WILL NOT BE FUNCTIONAL (THIS IS BECAUSE IT IS NOT A TRUE JAILBREAK AS OF YET, PLEASE WAIT FOR THE DEV-TEAM TO JAILBREAK THE ACTUAL 2.2).
again, please understand this is a hacked up solution i came up with to bypass activation NOT for jailbreaking.

Damn, I did the Jailbreak but didn't knew that the hidden icons (Categories) are still hidden. I can't use Installer (Hidden) and Cydia crashes.. But the cracked Apps are still working without any patch. I can't install new ones btw.
I wish I coud SSH into my iPhone...

as far as installing jailbroken apps (as stated in the previous method) it isn't possible atm [you'd have to wait until the official jailbreak]

for SSHing.. you should try a hard installation of SSH in 2.1 (like the OctoPrep for 1.1.2 use to be) and see if you can keep it as a daemon when you update.

MobileInstallation (file that controls installation of cracked apps) i believe isn't updated in 2.2 (i can be wrong though.)

as of now i'd recommend you keep all settings unchecked (boot logo is reported to work regardless). This patch was mainly to get passed the activation, but i left it open for further testing.

Will this also work on the 3G Iphone ? Because i have a 3G iphone from AT&T and when update to official firmware i get the slide to emergency screen. Thx

Results:-

I clean restored using iTunes to 2.2 firmware from 2.1.
Then applied the patched QuickPwn using 2.1 firmware file.
The Cydia does not work.

Tried the quickpwn method, installer works fine, but cydia does not. It crashes everytime i start it. Anyone knows about a source for installer to install terminal and ssh ?
