Cannot dial. Press Phone, waits, returns to homescreen

Hi guys

Any suggestions on what might be up with my phone?

I've QuickPwnd to 2.2, everything seemed to go fine.

Today, I press the phone button, the keypad appears but the green button doesnt have a logo, there is no text on the dock icons, it pauses and immediately returns to the homescreen - meaning I cannot call anyone.

If the best thing to do is to try again, do I just restore using Itunes now, or do I redo the whole quickpwn process ?

So, because I've quickpwnd the phone - which firmware do I use?
The downloaded apple one or something else?

Have you tried calling from the contacts list to see if that works?

It does work, however as soon as the call connects the phone goes to homescreen, and you cannot get to the keypad to disconnect the call.

this has happened with me 3 times now - and i've just tracked it down to a problem with installing kate. exact same symptoms, unlock works fine but as I start to add new stuff when kate is added it f***s it up. dialler screen hangs and then springs back to the home screen. can call from contacts but is v annoying. the only way I know to fix is to restore and then quikpwn again.......anyone got any solutions for this (as I actually like the stuff kate offers)

I didnt install anything called Kate ?

this is exactly what has happened to me on a number of occasions wheen Ii jailbreak my 3G iPhone. It actually checked as soon as I'd done thee jailbreak that the phone dialler worked, and it did.

So it must be summat to do with an app that was installed. Gone try again using a process of elimination I think.

update: Re-applied the jailbreak and have updated Cydia and Installer. Phone dialler still works. I'll now try installing some apps.

update: Installed Community Sources through Installer. Re-booted the iPhone. Phone dialler still working.

update: installed SwirlyMMS via Cydia. Re-booted, phone dialler screen still working.
