I just QuickPWN’d my iPod Touch 1st Generation with the firmware 2.2.1 update thanks to Vortex, a Russian hacker for creating the bundles for the firmware 2.2.1 update and the iPhone Dev Team, poorlad, and planetbeing for creating the QuickPWN software. You can jailbreak firmware 2.2.1 for your iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch 1st Generation with this QuickPWN 2.2.1 software. A lot of people are anxiously awaiting this jailbreak so I’m posting the download for it up here. iPhone 3G users, do not update to firmware 2.2.1 if you want to keep your unlock because firmware 2.2.1 will update your baseband permanently. You will need to download custom firmware with an earlier baseband in order to use QuickPWN.

Are there any differences between this unofficial version and the official version? As far as I can tell, both will jailbreak 2.2.1 (When DevTeam releases the new version anyway).

I don't know.
This version was done by other people/group. They took the previous quickpwn and patch it up. If you look inside, you can see the new bundles.

As far as I'm concern, the "Official" version is when Dev Team makes the announcement/release on their Blog

I'm not saying this version "non-official" version is bad or anything. I just want to make sure everyone is aware of that fact.
