i plug in my phone and the computer doesnt read it at all, i figured it might be burned from the bottom charger but i plugged it in my car charger and it charges i plug it to my wall and doesnt charge so idk whats wrong with it

i tried to put it in DFU mode [hold power//home button for 10 seconds then just hold home button till read by computer] it just loops and turns off then turns back on

i also did the other way around [turn phone off turn on holding home//power button then releasin power button] and same crap

can someone please help anyone know how i can force it to DFU mode or how i can make the computer read it thanks in advace :hack: :iphone:

well if DFU mode is not working and computer is not recognizing it, the only option you have now is to restore your phone back to factory setting and from there jailbreak it again.

Caution: since your computer is not recognizing your phone u wont be having any backups and restoring will delete everything on your phone.

why dont you try some different computer and see if it reads it.

and as far as its about your wall charger it could be your plug or the charger or heck it can be the usb cable. i mean if it works i your car i suspect its your usb cable which is why your computer is not recognizing it either.

thanks for the reply man, i've tried all my cables i tried my dock i tried my laptop and my pc and it still doesnt want to read it but when i use my car charger it charges perfectly fine...

i think im going to throw it out the window :/

Hey dallasprep, I'm getting the same problem mate!

I installed a some new USB ports in my PC. (not a new adapter, just connected an adapter to a spare socket on the motherboard). My iPhone was sat charging and syncing and playing quite happily in its dock, then I plugged the USB cable into the new socket and nothing happened. I figured that there was something wrong with the adapter, so I plugged it into the original socket, and it refused to charge or register at all on the PC! =/

So, I got out my AC adapter and tried that, nothing. I tried a spare mains adapter I have, nothing. I went and bought a new USB cable, nothing. I then went out in my car and plugged it in, and it both charges and plays music over the stereo, meaning that the charging and data transfer controllers on the logic board MUST be intact for it to work!

I have read reports that a Firewire (IEEE 1394) cable will charge the phone from your PC, but it will not sync (so its only a temporary solution).

I searched around, and I was being quoted like £150 ($300) for a replacement logic board, but it really doesn't make sense. The phone itself works absolutely perfectly, just like before! All I can see is that my car is providing 12v of DC power. The adapter is trying to provide 240v of DC power, and failing, and the USB is trying to provide 5v of AC power and failing, but if the reports about IEEE1394 are correct, then they provide 8-30v of power, settling on 12v for most devices. I have absolutely no idea what this equates to, but it is something that MAY be relevant.

As usual, being unlocked and jailbroken no one wants to know about it, except private repair shops, who will happily charge you the cost of a new phone just to repair it!

i know man thats the exact same problem, except i didnt change my ports but it only reads and plays on my car charger but not wall or computer dunno why if it reads it on the car charger i dont see whats the difference... same port in the phone
