i have a 2g iphone and windows computer it is already jailbroken and unlocked but 1.1.4 is a bit old now lol the last time upgraded i had to add all my contacts again one by one. is there a way to avoid this and is quickpwn the way to go.

as for keeping the contacts ...:
use itunes to save all your contacts to either
1. microsoft outlook (need to be installed)
2. windows address book(built into windows)(recommended)
3. google/yahoo contacts (need an account)(might mix up with your emails)

the same goes for you calendar entries only you will need install microsoft outlook (i use 2007)

after the update it is recommended you set you phone as a new iphone in itunes....and sync with the location that have you contact info....

Oopssss that last part i missed..."set the phone as a new one" in iTunes...should i start over again? Will I have issues? Went from 1.1.1 to 2.2 and synced the old data..

Syncing old data and setting up your newly restored phone from iTunes backup are different things. If you set it up as a new phone and synced the data manually, you should be all right... but if you chose to restore the data from backup, then you might have problems..
