Unhappy Always go into recovery mode?!Help

I had a unlocked 1.0.2 iphone originally. It has been working for the past year and I just recently decided to update it. With the help from my colleague, we used the iclaified tutorial with quickpwn and upgrade the firmware all the way to 2.2.1. The process was very smooth and successful. This happened in Hong Kong while I was visiting my colleague.

Strange thing happened the next day after I returned to the Canada. The next morning I turned on the phone, it showed the itunes CD logo and the USB cable which says the phone is in the recovery mode.

Since then I have tried probably 20 times to restore to 2.2.1 and quickpwn. The phone and everything will work after the quickpwn, but the problem is that phone will always go back to the recovery mode after a random period of time. It could be few minutes, few hours, or over 10 hours....

I have done lots of search on the Net and found similar problem, but nothing seems to be exactly like mine. So, I have a iphone which will only work for few minutes to hours, then I will need to restore and quickpwn again from scratch??

I even tried to restore it to the 2.2. firmware, it has the exact same problem. I also tried to only restore the firmware without perform the quickpwn. surprisingly, it has the same problem, so it tells me the problem is not likely caused by the quickpwn, but maybe the firmware itself.

Any ideas of how I should proceed to resolve this issue? Any thoughts and advise?

Thank you for the suggestion. Just want to ensure I am doing this right, can you confirm if the below steps are correct?

    Uninstall itunes 8.0.2
    delete music folder
    reinstall itunes 7.5.x
restore iphone to 1.1.4 by using the SHIFT-click option
then quickpwn? or I need to use different jailbreak&unlock tool?

    Thanks!

U'll need to use liberty+ for the jailbreak . U can easily find it on google.
And if u have important data in the music folder and u want to keep it , u can simply rename the folder.

Edit: u will also need to uninstall all other application that install with iTunes .. Like mobile device support etc.... And restart once every thing is uninstalled...
    Good lck

before trying this big hassle, DFU restore to Apple stock firmware 2.2.1 first. the iPhone will be locked then. Use one of the iClarified tutorials to jailbreak/activate/unlock then.
I would never go back, way too much hassle.

I am sure something went wrong when you got from 1.0.2 to 2.x. By the way, we always recommend to virginize at fw 1.0.2 if the iPhone was unlocked by AnySim at this firmware. But anyway, sounds like the update worked without leaving you with a brick (we've had seen that a lot), you're lucky.
I am sure a DFU restore will wipe your problems. There are stickies on how to here in the forum.

Thank you guys for the suggestions, I have tried probably more than 20 times now using the iclarified tutorials to restore to 2.2.1 and then quickpwn. Iike I said in my original post, it works every single time. The apps, the phone, the music...etc just like a well function unlocked phone. The problem is that the iphone will go back into the recovery mode after a random period of time, could be few minutes, few hours...but eventually it will go back to the recovery mode and not matter what I do, it still get stuck and I have to do the restore and unlock overall again...

I did try to restore to 2.2 and it is the exact same problem like the 2.2.1, should I even try 2.1 or 2.0? or wait for the next version of firmware or go all the way back to 1.1.4?

last thing to make sure before you try the long road back. After DFU-restoring (important) to 2.2.1 and using Quickpwn iTunes will offer to "recover data from a backup". Dont choose this option, instead go for "setup as a new iPhone". This to make sure not to get old and/or corrupted preferences back.

If this all aint work I doubt a downgrade would help but I'D try it aswell if I were in the situation you are.

Yup, I did try what you suggested as to set it up as new phone after quick pwn, probably 5 to 6 times. It still behaves the same. I even try doing it with or without the SIM, with different SIMs. Sounds like a down grade is the only option that I haven't try, will give it a try this weekend and let you guys know, wish me luck
