[2.1] apps crash for no reason
i have quickpwned my 2g iphone and running 2.1 but i notice problems
for the record i never restore from backup, i simply set it up as new iphone. also i have restored 2.1 and quickpwned it 3 times and each time the problems persist
i have gone to the apple forums and see many ppl mentioning the exact same problems and apple won't comment on it as usual.
for the record i actually get tech support for my iphone here which i never do at the apple forums, apple simply does not provide customer service which really amazes me.
i launch mail icon, i can see my emails but when i try to look at it, it crashes.
when i launch the settings, go to mail...it crashes
when i launch sms app it crashes.
when i say crash, it simply throws me back out to the springboard.
i dont know why this happens...in the beginning right after i restore and quickpwn, it all works fine. but it degrades...after some time say a day or two things start to fail
my theory is when i sync to itunes thats when the problems start.
if i dont sync to itunes all apps work fine, after i sync the mail app fails to work right.
i use itunes to sync my yahoo address book. and it will sync fine (i usually get a yahoo error that it could not reach it but i simply retry), if n try to sync with outlook it always fails, ever since 1.11
i try this of 2 different computers but same problems. i really think it itunes problems
here is the kicker, if i reboot the iphone it will sometimes fix the problems and other times it wont
why is it after i reboot my mail works? but a day later the problem is back??
if i restore and start all over, it fixes everything but the problems come back.
i'll copy over my personal apps, via ssh and apply permissions 775 to them, then download one free app store app and voila all my personal apps work.
then i use cydia to download and install a few things like bossprefs, winterboard, a few themes for it and thats about it.
everything will work...
then comes the dreaded itunes syncing and after it i usually notice something gets broken..like mail or sometimes the phone app where it wont let me access the dial pad or sometimes i can't access my contacts.
anyone know why or how to fix this?

Install again iTunes 8 + restore 2.1 + Quickpwn again.
Then do some test with the fresh update without installing/syncing... maybe try to install some apps using Cydia/Installer/Appstore...
I find your lack of faith disturbing...
2G iPhone - 2.1 FW - (QuickPwn)
Jst one more to add. I had some problems after using my iPhone 3G int unlocked and upgraded 2.0-2.0.1-2.0.1-2.1. I always use setup as a new iPhone of cause - like you do.
What I did was manually delete the backup file while iTunes not running. It is in
Mac OS X
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
I just deleted all the folders (long names, numbers and characters). Then did a reboot on my iPhone and synced - problems gone.
I had more backups in that folder that I have iPhones. Sometimes it creates a new backup folder if something goes wrong, so you ahve a bunch of them. deleting all does not harm, I would give it a try.
let me know if it works
