Default [Winpwn] Can you still use Winscp?

After using Winpwn, can you still use Winscp to access the files? Also, I already have a jailbroken 1.1.2 where I used Winscp to change some of the default files like the battery charging icon, sounds, and I have a retro dial pad, if i use Winpwn will I lose these files and will winpwn work correctly (cause i thought I read somewhere that they have to be default files, but i dont think it matters).

    Thanks

Yes you WILL lose EVERY THING you have currently on the phone unless you save the parts that you want and copy them back over via Winscp. If you use WinPwn you will have to set your phone up as a new phone as WinPwn creates a custom firmware that you restore to from Itunes. When you create the custom firmware within WinPwn make sure you include open ssh and bsd subsystem in the firmware and also make sure you have the correct settings enabled on the boot neuter part. If you are planning to use WinPwn id suggest doing a little reading around this section. Unless you just want to pwn the phone if that be the case then i have no idea, id suggest if you were going to just Pwn then creating the new firware would be better but then again youd lose all ur apps, numbers, txts everything.

I thought with the new version you dont need to mess with the boot neuter part. And how can i find out which version i have.

If your phone is 1.1.4 and already unlocked, you don't need bootneuter.
    Bootneuter is optional.
Winpwn/pwnage deals with pwning the OS bootloader not with unlock.
If the phone is not unlocked, you use bootneuter to perform the unlock

Oh, so the boot neuter is just for unlocking. I only want to jailbreak because I am an existing AT&T customer, is that right?

In that case, I suggest you use iLiberty+. Use iLiberty+ and select jailbreak, select installer and click go for it.
Don't select activate because that will overwrite your AT&T activated lockdownd file.
You have an AT&T subbed phone @ 1.1.2, you can just do an update to 1.1.4 directly from itunes. After that, your phone should be working as before. You will loose your customized settings and your jailbreak+installer but that can be remedied using iLibery+ as mentioned above

Well, I dont have a Mac (Windows Vista) and I heard winpwn was better that iLiberity, true or not true? Plus, winpwn seems to have more advantages for later down the road that iLiberity.

iLiberty is available for both windows and MAC.
    iLiberty is rock solid.
Winpwn latest version is stable (dev Team did not release this version so cmw convert it from the original MAC version to windows).
It's your choice to pick what you want to use. iLiberty is really simple to use. WinPwn is also easy but you need to understand the process of iPwned & IPSW Builder.
The idea behind pwnage is it modifies the OS bootloader and allows you to build custom firmware (unsigned) and restore it to your phone via itunes which is considered the safest way.

    BTW, read this as well:

Ok, I have been reading TONS of info winpwn, so I feel comfortable using it and understanding how to create a IPSW Builder, I guess I am looking down the road with 2.0 coming and the ability to create firmware is attractive (i would like tinker with SDK's in the near future). I know some stuff but not everything, so if I decide to use winpwn there should be no need for me to mess with the boot neuter portion.

And also, In the thread you linked, i read that and that was where I was going. I was hoping that when 2.0 comes out, there will be no need to 'restore' just simply 'update' and have the ability to keep all apps, etc. I guess that is the main reason I wanted to use winpwn instead of iLiberty.

I think you have convinced me that iLiberty is the way to go (if my theory about updating winpwn is not possible). Is the latest version of iLiberty+ 1.2.0.65 or what is it if that is not it?
