    Default what would happen if you restore to a custom pwn'd IPSW file on a stock phone?

    lets say i am using a stock 1.1.4 phone now, and i decide to restore to a pwn'd 1.1.4 IPSW file that i got off a friend. Will it work?

    Or do I have to pwn my stock 1.1.4 phone 1st?

    You have to pwn your phone otherwise you simply won't be able to restore...

    In order for the phone to accept modified firmware file, it has to be PWN'd otherwise you will get an error

    You will likely get a 1604 error! and as the other said it won't work!
    iPhone US 8GB
    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    At the beginning of the restore process, you will get an error due to the fact that a PWNED image won't pass verification on an unPWNED phone, otherwise there would be no reason to PWN your phone in the first place.

    slightly off topic, but is it possible to create a custom firmware using PWNAGE on the Mac, and restore with that firmware on a phone that has just been pwned with winpwn?

    1.) you can't install pwned firmware to a not pwned form -> will fail

    2.) you can isntall custom firmware no matter which pwn version made it to any pwned phone, no matter which version it has been pwned with.
