Default Warning: New Mac OSX 10.5.6 Update canít recognize your iPhone in DFU Mode!

I've been having some issues with getting DFU mode using Quickpwn on my 2G - 2.2fw after updating to the 10.5.6 OSX today.

I've now just seen this Warning over at spazi saying that the update maybe causing DFU problems like the new unibody mac has.

    BE CAREFUL

This was no accident. I'll bet anyone 20 bucks that the next windows iTunes update doesn't recognize DFU either.

This is quite a low blow, as sometimes DFU is the only way to restore a busted iPhone. The dev team will probably have to write their own iphone restore software to cut itunes out of the picture entirely (if this is even possible).

The question I have is if you've already pwned the device, you should still be able to build a custom (jailbroken) firmware with the full version of PwnageTool, right?

Installing custom IPSW on a pwn'd iphones should still work fine because DFU isn't needed

does it mean, that I just need to create the new 2.2 custom version and restore it via iTunes without do anything on my phone (DFU, etc.)?
    I updated to 10.5.6.

    I updated to 10.5.6.
If your phone is already pwned then you can click shift/restore and use a custom firmware.

If your phone is unpwned (i.e. factory condition) you will need to enter DFU to complete the process and that's when the problem start.

10.5.6 has a bug with entering DFU.

    Speedy,
    from f41qu3:
Trick: For first tries, I'm going crazy, but DFU problem is related to iTunes / iTunes Helper, on trying kill iTunes Helper on background DFU work here.
