Thread moved.. All of this is answered in other threads. Quick summary follows.

Use pwnagetool again. This guide is what you need.
iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.1.2 Using PwnageTool (Mac)
You are already permanently unlocked so you can turn off that part in pwnagetool expert settings
Restore, because updating is not supported with Cydia/jailbroken iPhones
Setup iPhone as new afterwards to minimise problems.
You need to fix push notifications
either install an and launch an app that use push notifications.
Let the app send you push notificiations.
Then go into settings and turn off push notifications completely
Or or installing proper certificates via this thread: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/96714-post474376.htm
Otherwise you will experience poor battery life.
