Default Upgrade to 2.2 from 2.0 - mac - backing up device

    Hi,

can someone direct me to a guide to follow to upgrade by jailbroken, unlocked 2g iphone to 2.2. I have 2.0 (5A347) installed currently and want to upgrade because my facebook app no longer loads.

My other question is, where is the file on my mac stored for the backup. Currently when backing up my device in itunes it gets to half way on the status and freezes, and it will not move for however long you leave it. If you press the (x) it will say backing up photos etc but then at the end it says cancelled.

Thirdly will my 'Notes' be backed up? and show on the upgraded version.

    Thank you

notes wont be backed up as you would be needing a third party software for that so that you can convert your notes files into .txt and then send them to you PC apparently you seem to be not the only person suffering from not to be able to back up problem probably so is that your itunes is not updated as well?
