does the software fully compatible with IOS4?
I don't think there is a link between the .phoneformat data file modified from "CallerID-Format Fix"
and the boot screen, looks more like a side effect of jailbreak itself.

I was wondering what it would be like if there is no long distant dial prefix?

    In Maldives, there's no LDD and the default formats are;

Local calls to mobiles - 7xxxxxx and 9xxxxxx
    Land lines - 3xxxxxx(atoll wise - 650xxxx, 652xxxx etc...)

Our country code is +960 so +960 7xx xxxx would be default for the above example. So does the Caller-ID Format fix solve this?

Is it possible not to have a LDD?

    thanks in advance

Actually in CallerID-Format Fix numbers starting with 3,6,7,9
    are formatted +960 xxx xxxx

If you prefer +960 xxxxxxx simply uninstall it or
    save original file:
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/Default.phoneformat
    substitute with:
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
    check file permissions = 644 (owner:rw- group:r-- world:r--) should already be
    and restart.

    For Madagascar with FW 3.1.2

    save original file:
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/Default.phoneformat
    substitute with:
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
    check file permissions = 644 (owner:rw- group:r-- world:r--) should already be
    and restart.

How to set Madagascar in Region Format with English calendar (for local numbers without +261):
    install "erica utilities" from Cydia
Open WinSCP and connect to iPhone (same as when you transfer files)
open "Commands" menu and select "Open Terminal"
when Terminal Window appear cut next line:
    /usr/bin/plutil -set AppleLocale -value en_MG /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
and paste in "Enter_command" then click on "Execute".
if result is OK you can see "Writing new value for AppleLocale to …" without errors .
    Restart .

If you prefer French calendar use fr_MG instead of en_MG

    Dear Frank,
I'm from India and I'm using 3GS with FW 4.0.1 jailbroken and unlocked. It was previously locked to AT&T. I have installed the CallerID-Format Fix for Firmware 3.x. Our Landphone is of the format (0xx)xxxxxxxx (where 0xx is the state code, for example, 022,033,etc and the remaining 8digits is the landphone number). Our Cellphone is of the format xxxxxxxxxx(10 digits or 11digits with a 0 prefix for outgoing out of state calls). I have saved my cell phone contacts in the format 0xxxxxxxxxx(11digits) and the landphone in the format 0xx-xxxxxxxx.

Now when I'm getting a call from a cellphone its in the format +91 xx-xx-xxxxxx and landphone is like +91 xx-xxxxxxxx(instead of 0xx-xxxxxxxx). Neither SMS nor calls match with my contacts and so the contact name doesn't shows up in the caller ID. I have not prefixed my country code in the contacts, ie +91. If you can remove all the formatting such as -,space and the country code prefix(+91) when I'm receiving a call then I think it'll match with my contacts. Please let me know a solution for this problem. Thanks.

India is not modified from "CallerID-Format Fix" because the original seems
quite right , so you can uninstall it.
See also post #760 for a special formatting request.
You have a Caller ID problem but spaces and "-" are ignored during match ,
so the unformatting does not solve.

The iPhone was previously locked …
try this extra fix (for India only)
    save original file (if present):
    /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppSupport.plist
    substitute with (or copy) :
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
    check file permissions = 644 (owner:rw- group:r-- world:r--) should already be
    and restart.

Remember to set India in Setting->General->International->Region Format
to get the right formatting of local numbers (without +91)

Wow both of them worked! You are a genius! I can't thank you enough. On a side note, I'm a student doing bachelors in CS and I'd like to know how did you edit Default.phoneformat? I don't have a Mac. Thank you again.

For speed reasons Default.phoneformat is a binary data file and can be modified
with an Hexadecimal Editor, but it's not easy, I use "0xED" for Mac (free).
For .plist files I use "Property List Editor" (Mac).
