I have made upgrade 2.2.1 -> 3.0.1 (2g).
I'd like to use the format:
8 (###) ###-####
+7 (###) ###-####
(###) ###-####
###-####
###-###
###-##
####
###

This way for 2.2.1 doesnt work:
System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIDefaultFormat.phoneformat
Substitute with file at post #679 (renamed to UIDefaultFormat.phoneformat)
(check file permissions = 644) and restart.

How I can change Default.phoneformat?

With FW3.x is the same as #679 (positive feedback in #681)

save original file:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/Default.phoneformat

The mobile number here has 7 digits. (+597 xxxxxxx)
And the phone numbers has 6 digits. (+597 xxxxxx)

When I get called with a mobile number, I get +597 xxxxxxx. And when I get a sms I get (597) xxxxxxx. And when I get called with a phone number, I get (597) xxxxxx. I don't get it :S

Can u plse help me?

597 instead of +597 is a problem of your operator , try this solution

save original file:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/Default.phoneformat
Substitute with:
http://rapidshare.com/files/29524360...oneformat.html
(check file permissions = 644) and restart.

You need also to select Suriname in Region Format

1. install Erica Utilities via Cydia

2. use terminal of WinSCP (PC) or CyberDuck (Mac) via SSH and type :

/usr/bin/plutil -set AppleLocale -value en_SR /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

3. restart.

Hey frank8, thnx for file. When the person sms or call with mobile phone, it works. But the home phone with 6-digits still doesnt work.
Here's the problem:

In my contacts I have ->
TIM
home +597 499555 for example right

When I call, I get (597) 4499555 .. I get 2 4's. but if I call +597 4499555 it doesnt work. Bcus home numbers suppose to have 6 digits. The same if I save my home contact with (597) 499555. I still get (597) 4499555.. Can u help m?

And I dont get the Erica Utilities line. I downloaded it but I dunt get what I'm suppose to do next. Can u explain it in more lines, if that's not too much trouble?

Do u maybe have an email address? Maybe I can chat with u, that would be better I think?..

Oh and do u have problems with ur battery? Cus ive read somewhere that if u have an iPhone 3G firmware 3.0 and u install some apps. The battery goes down fast and I hve problems with charging too. I'm sorry that I put u in so much work but Ive been up working on these problems for 2 whole nights now :S

I use "CallerID and Format fix 1.1" and when I enter number 111222333 with the keypad it is displayed as 111 222 333 which is perfectly OK but when I add a new contact to the address book (using "+" button) the same number is displayed as (11) 122-2333. I would like to have 111 222 333 in the addresss book too.

Can you fix this please?

Ask to your network-provider , number duplication is not acceptable , you cannot use recents calls .

However try this solution for landline Caller ID

save original file:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/Default.phoneformat
Substitute with:

You need to set Suriname in Region Format for numbers saved without international prefix.

Open WinSCP and connect to iPhone (same as when you transfer files)

open "Commands" menu and select "Open Terminal"
when Terminal Window appear cut next line:
/usr/bin/plutil -set AppleLocale -value en_SR /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
and paste in "Enter_command" then click on "Execute".
if result is OK you can see "Writing new value for AppleLocale to …" without errors .

Operation can be repeated anytime (if you change manually Region Format settings).

This kind of applications do not discharge battery because are not always active.

This is a strange Apple behavior in address book (only for Czech Republic).
Temporary solution is to use Firmware 3.1 without CallerID and Format Fix ,
numbers are formatted 111 222 333 on dialer and address book , during
modification are totally unformatted (but is not a big problem).
I will investigate.

I'm using FW 3.1.2 and with Telia Centrex (switchboard) (Sweden) they add 00 in front of the number.
eg 00 xxx xxx xxx.
Is there any why to fix caller id?
