    @Frank

    Hi-

Can you please help me make the file for Venezuela? it goes like this:

    Country code: +58
    Area codes: 212, 414, 416, 412, 424 (always 3 digit, including cellular)

    Correct formating (both):

    +58 (AAA) ###-####
    0 (AAA) ###-####

    where...

    +58 or 0 are prefixed
    AAA is Area Code
###-#### is the local phone number

In the old 1.1, etc, I used to edit the old UIPhoneFormats.plist for masking the number and this is what I included (which worked perfectly):

(All Strings under the "ve" Array - for Venezuela)

    +58 (###) ###-####
    0 (###) ###-####
    (###) ###-####
    ###-####
    011 $

I have no idea how to edit the new UIDefaultFormats.phoneformat. Can you help out? Errr... and include it in the Cydia Format Fix when it comes out!

    Thanks in advance!

    Rick

    @ sirkako

Venezuela is included in Format fix for 2.2 (firmware 2.2 only) with:

    ( 58 , ve , L )
    [
    ( L1 , L2 , 1 , (0;00))
    ( 1 , 3 ,
    ( 1 , 9 , 5 , 0 , 0 , 0 , str_000 )
    ( 1 , 9 , 7 , 0 , 0 , 0 , str_006 )
    ( 1 , 9 , 10 , 0 , 3 , 1 , str_015 )
    )
    (
    str_000 #####
    str_006 ### ####
    str_015 n (###) ### ####
    )]

    old style equivalent:

    +58 (###) ### ####
    0 (###) ### ####
    (###) ### ####
    ### ####
    #####
    ###
    00 $

It seem very close to your request

Default Requesting a very special fix (for NL)

    Hi,

I am living in the Netherlands, i just got my iPhone 3G, but already encountered 2 very nasty flaw to my opinion:

My phone is set to suppress my "Caller ID", but to let my friends to see my caller id
i use a special suffix (which works on most networks):

    *31# +31 12 1234567

*31# ___ this code allows caller id (to suppress it if it's not enabled use #31#)
+XX ____ this the country id (31 is NL)
XX _____ followed by 2 digit for the areacode
XXXXXXX ____ and the last 7 digits is the subscription number

Now my problem is that when using the above format incomming calls from friends are not recognized because they where entered in my contacts with the above mentioned format (*31# ......).

Is there anyone who could help me fixing this flaw so it will be recognized?

Now this a little off-topic but anyhow please permit me to mentioned it:

On the iPhone is impossible to use another identity for sending mail (from the same account), example:

if you have got an account at gmail with a username : myuserid@gmail.com
    but have an alias/identity my.real.name@domain.com

Your login id on your iPhone mail app needs to be the same as the main one at gmail (myuserid) otherwise you can authenticate, but because you can't add other identities, all your outgoing mail will reply to myuserid@gmail.com instead of the preferred : my.real.name@domain.com

Does anyone nows about a fix or workaround (is there an 3rd party mail app that will allow identities)

Much appreciate anyones help with the above

    Thanx in advance

First flaw/issue probably solved by installing ispazio's fix (CallerID fix for 2.2)

    Hi everyone,

I thinki may have my initial problem with callerid issue, after reading the this threat a little more, it seems that Ispazio's CallerID fix (for 2.2) has solved the issue. by checking the last digits of the number instead of the older method.

Well anyhow incoming calls are not matched with the contacts even if the number is preceded by *31# (to disable CallerID suppression per individual contact!

    I'm very happy now!

Yes , CallerID Fix for 2.2 v1.1 use Last N Digits Match method ,
actually N=6 for Netherlands and will be 8 in next release.

N is the minimum number of digits for make a call from a mobile phone ,
I hope in local help for correct value for each country.

    Hi there Frank8.
Some corrections about the format of Chile:
    The phone format should be:
    +56 9 XXXX-XXXX / XXXX-XXXX (<-- Cell Phones)
    +56 2 XXX-XXXX / (02) XXX-XXXX (<-- Santiago)
    +56 32 XXX-XXXX / (032) XXX-XXXX (<-- Valparaiso/Easter Island region)
    +56 41 XXX-XXXX / (041) XXX-XXXX (<-- Concepcion/Arauco region)
    +56 XX XX-XXXX / (0XX) XX-XXXX (<-- Other regions)

And for int'l phone calls it should be
    1XX 0 #
    00 #

This data is based on the chilean numbering plan. Is there any way to correct/edit the file? Thanks beforehand.
