i think yoshiki has a solution. He mentions you have to change PhoneFormat file. Yoshiki or one of the experts could you please do a modified PhoneFormat file for Pakistan. The correct PhoneNumberTemplates has the following entries for Pakistan:
    92
    00
    0
    2
    7

    92
    00
    0
    3
    7

    92
    00
    0
    2
    8

    Many thanks

Default Convert between 2.1 and 2.2

There is only one difference between UIDefaultFormats.phoneformat in 2.1 and in 2.2. So if you want to change UIDefaultFormats.phoneformat, please read this thread and find information about UIDefaultFormats.phoneformat in 2.1.

The difference I found is that there is one more "00" between internal prefix and international prefix.

    For example:
Japanese number fix data header in 2.1
    14 00 00 00 40 12 00 00 04 00 00 00 30 00 30 31 30 00 00 00

    30 00 30 31 30 00 00 00
    means
    0.010...

Japanese number fix data header in 2.2
    14 00 00 00 40 12 00 00 04 00 00 00 30 00 00 30 31 30 00 00

    30 00 00 30 31 30 00 00
    means
    0..010..

Unhappy [2.2] Caller ID fix not working.

    Hi,

I have updated my 1st gen iphone to 2.2 today and applied the caller id fix. But iphone is still not recognising numbers from the contact list. Is the caller id fix for 2.1 not working on 2.2?

But the first four bytes are now 0xD1 and not 0xDF anymore. Isn't that important as well?

I tried editing it, but my phone got stuck with the white spining wheel. I had to revert back to original, to have my phone boot.

One question, is this file the only file I have to edit in order to make my phone recognize contacts when they call?

Now it only recognizes contacts which I have saved without the national prefix.

of course its important, that means that the offset for addressing info has changed from 0xA78 (in 2.1) to 0x9D0 (in 2.2).

Yes I figured that much. I still have to figure how to add the rules at the end of the file. Do I just start by after the last thing that is written in the file:

    14 00 00 00 ....

Or do I have to add anything infront of this?
