Done, and it's still not working right. Anything else I can try besides re-entering all of my contacts or memorizing their numbers?

I am having similar issues in Panama as it shares a similar numbering plan as Honduras for mobile operators. Here we have 2 providers, Cable & Wireless (CWM) and Movistar. All mobile numbers follow 6XXX-XXXX while fixed line numbers follow 999-99999. The problem arises when you receive an SMS from any mobile user as CWM format the sender as 5076XXXXX. It would be nice to be able to have your contacts stored without the 507 (as its not needed for local dialing)... Any help Fank?

And yes, I have selected Panama as the country in the International settings. But I would like to keep the menus and formats in English. When I select Panama, the call string that gets displayed is just a long string of 8 characters, no spaces or dashes. Thank you for the help.

use str_2 for NUMBER 500 to 505 and up to 10 digits

    " 1 " means " n " is used in str_2 , n = trunk prefix or nothing
" 3 " is area code length n### in str_2 , but apparently is not used
    Thanks, Frank.

I've made UIDefaultFormats.phoneformat for Japan. Japanese city code is very complex and it needs over 250 rules.

Now I'm testing it with my beta users. If there is no problem, I'll give you all date for Japan. Will you use it in your next release of "CallerID Fix collection"?

    +7 presence/absence is automatic
note absence of trunk prefix 8 resolved with:
    ( 80 , 89 , 11 , 0 , 0 , str_6 )
    equivalent to:
    ( 0 , 9 , 10 , 3 , 0 , str_3 )
    but with extra 8

result is similar to your request excepting
for absence of a four digits area code (as in wikipedia)
    (####) ##-##-##

I suggest you practice with this rules
Frank, just to make it clear, is it even possible now to have 4-digit area code?

Unfortunately I'm not so good in editing binaries, and can't practice with the file. Hope you or someone else will find time to make one for Russia.

    Anyway, thanks for your help.

if you use a sim unlock adapter add :
    001
    hn

    to this file:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIMobileCountryCodes.plist

    or download it here:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/15627416...des.plist.html

save original , substitute and restart

template file for Panama is wrong:

    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/PhoneNumberTemplates.plist

    download a test file here:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/15627764...tes.plist.html

    substitute and restart.
It's all if you don't use a sim unlock adapter.

Yes , you set Panama in Region Format but rules are empty an you get XXXXXXXX

Yes it's possible to have 4-digits area code.
I wait a second source to confirm and possibly write text rules for Russia.

Yes , when you are ready share files.
250 rules is not the record , first Sweden with 420 , second Germany with 293.

I'm not using an adapter. My phone is locked to Claro. Sorry I should have stated this before.
