Default One iTunes, Two iPhones: one iPhone 4, the other a jailbroken 2g? Issues?

    Hi all,

Total, complete, unadulterated noob here. Hopefully my first question will be easily answered!

I just reserved an iPhone 4 this morning. My old 2G is well out of contract, and will (obviously) be deactivated once the new phone is activated on its number on the 24th.

SO, here's my question: If I have one iTunes account, and plan to use it with both phones...AND plan to jailbreak the newly-deactivated 2G, is there any chance of the two getting 'crossed' on iTunes and somehow screwing up my spankin' new iPhone 4 (which I don't intend to mess with in any way?)

In other words, I don't want to be 'that guy' who jailbreaks his old phone, then plugs in his new one only to have iTunes think it's the old one and mess it up by trying to put the new jailbroken stuff on it.

    Yes, 'jailbroken stuff' =]

...sorry about the noobness, I'm still learning vocab and am hoping that what I describe above isn't even possible.

I just don't want to be 'that guy'...

Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a repeat!

In my experience (owning jailbroken/unlocked 2G and a factory unlocked 3GS) You have absolutely nothing to worry about. I use one iTunes account and have different apps synced to each iPhone.

    Hi Olethros,

Thanks very much for that! That simple reply really helped.

I would think that iTunes is smart enough to keep the two phones and their apps, etc., separate. But if I were to kill my new phone because I'M too dumb, it would really suck!!
