i have just recently become the owner of an iphone 3g (second hand) its all unlocked and seems to work fine so far the only problem i have with it is the home button doesn't always work and i have to press down on it for an abnormal amount of time or turn off the phone completely. does any one know how i might be able to fix this? many thanks

4.0 ?? restoring to custom4.1 will fix this problem (common in iOS4.0)

im a complete techological novice do i just restore all the factory settings? sorry!

i think it's a hardware problem. do not update or restore.

Two options.
- Restore stock 3.1.3 and unlock using ultrasn0w (redsn0w for JB)
- create custom 4.1.x and restore and unlock it

* remember you have a home button problem. proper button press is required
for DFU/Restore modes !

its already unlocked so would just restoring the 3.1.3 work?
