Question Stuck iPhone after installing custom iOS 4.2.1 w/ 615 BB - no SHSH blobs

This is very embarassing. I forgot to back up the SHSH blobs and now I'm stuck. Here's how it happened:

I managed to install a custom iOS 4.2.1 / 6.1.5 iPad Baseband ROM created with PwnageTool just fine. It ran great. Later I tried doing a full wipe and then it hung, badly. It has been stuck in a recovery loop ever since.

I tried reinstalling the original and custom IPSW's through iTunes, tried TinyUmbrella to fix the recovery loop, tried RecBoot. Fixrecovery 4.2.1 says it is identified as an iphone1,2, then exits, saying it's not supported. All the same. Still stuck in recovery.

Tried installing a second custom ROM, and I see it is installed, (I never had the pineapple logo before), but I am still stuck in recovery mode with a very perplexed Steve Jobs on the screen.

I followed quite a few tutorials, one involving unplugging after getting stuck then rebooting... No luck!

I tried a tethered boot through redSn0w, but got stuck at the pineapple logo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Using OSX 10.7, iTunes 10.4.

How are you making the custom IPSWs? We strongly advise against downloading pre-made custom IPSWs from the internet (you are breaking the law and asking for trouble)

Also, if you have a 3GS and don't have a saved SHSH for 4.2.1 then you can NEVER run 4.2.1 again (properly) on your 3GS. This isn't an issue for the iPhone 3G - only for 3GS and newer devices.

If you want more help, post the output of FixRecovery and generally give more details. We don't have enough to information yet to give you a definite answer.

Also just a nitpick, these are NOT ROMs this is incorrect terminology.
