Quick question, will Quickpwn jailbreak 2.0.2?

I am no expert and it won't work now.

But it seems that if we knew the data contained in the plist files in the pwnmethus foler then it would work.

Maybe updating this for 2.0.2 (at least ONLY for a jailbreak and NO unlock) would be a simple modification of that plist file and nothing else?

I don't know - I may be wrong - I always thought the devteam had to crack the activation - unless there is no activation - just a jailbreak in which case who knows!

As you can see it DOES jailbreak 2.0.2.

You update in itunes to 2.0.2.

Then use quickpwn with firmware 2.0.1 to jailbreak your 2.0.2 firmware phone.

You will end up with Cydia on the phone (no installer).

You will end up with pwnage custom logos on boot (unless you edit the batch file to remove them).

Your phone MUST already be activated.

It will NOT unlock either phone versions although some people have said that the iPhone 2G does not get its modem updated.

iPhone 3G IS UPDATED. If you want to unlock it DO NOT update it or you may make it not possible in the future.

Official unlocked 3G phones can update and jailbreak using quickpwn and keep the unlock.

CONFIRMED:

this process will update you to 2.0.2 firmware AND install BOTH cydia and installer.

upgraded from a 2G 2.0.1 phone (hacktivated/jailbroken/unlock)

phone is STILL activated, unlocked, and jailbroken with both cydia and installer working 100% perfectly.

Just reading the iPhone Dev Team blog and its recommended you stay away from using 2.0.1 to pwn. As it extracts and uses part of the 2.0.1 build it has the potential to overwrite certain bug fixes...

quickpwn, also activated the phone for me. I had done an update to 2.0.2 which kept everything ok except jailbreak, and then I did a restore to 2.0.2

the phone was deactivated (and unjailbroken of course), and as I didn't have my custom 2.0.1 to restore in dfu, I tried the quickpwn with the original 2.0.1 and it not only jailbroke my phone, but it also activated it!

PS: youtube does not work though, but I don't care that much, as long as my wireless works!
