Default Pwning an iphone previously unlocked with iPlus

My friend has a 16gb 2g iPhone... it was originally unlocked (by me ) using iplus (2.0b from memory), back in the days before iLiberty+ existed...

So the baseband was downgraded to 3.9FB in the process...

Unfortunately he tried to update to 2.0 when it came out, and he has kinda bricked it... I'm hoping to resurrect it with Pwnagetool.

Is it possible? Do I need to manually restore the bootloader to 4.6 original first, or is it possible to jump straight into Pwnagetool? And if so, should I leave the "Update Bootloader" bit in Pwnagetool unchecked?

Or would a DFU restore to 1.1.4 suffice?

Or is it a lost cause?

I would DFU restore to firmware 2.1 first, then use Quickpwn or Pwnagetool. Quickpwn runs easy but does only jailbreak/activation. Use Cydia then to load Bootneuter and set Bootneuter to bootloader 4.6, Neuter=ON, Fakeblank=OFF Unlock=ON and you will be set.

i too also used iplus to unlock my phone when it was in 1.1.4 so i say its still not a lost cause so yeah try to use volkspost's method and it should definitely work as i too am now enjoying the 2.0 >.< or better yet ask your friend on what FW version hes more comfortable at then start from there
