Default [Pwning FW 2.1] Pwnage vs Quickpwn

I am running pwned 2.0.2, jailbroken and unlocked. In my previous pwnings, I have always used Pwnage and restore my custom firmware. However, I am considering another option to go to 2.1.

First upgrade to stock 2.1 through iTunes 8. Then Quickpwning 2.1. By doing so I would avoid restoring.

My only doubt is whether I keep the unlock by upgrading to stock 2.1 through iTunes. I know that some people said they did it, but shouldn't I lose the unlock if the baseband gets upgraded when updating to 2.1?

    Thanks

There's no baseband update from 2.0.2 to 2.1 on the 2G iPhone, AFAIK.

I think QuickPwn doesn't update the baseband but anyway iPhone 2G baseband hasn't been updated since 2.0 beta 6.

Thanks guys. I have one more question, that I hope you or anybody else can answer. I have never used quickpwn and I have only seen a tutorial on how it works on iClarified. Can you choose your own custom logos with quickpwn? (I mean, not the pineapple and Job's cartoon - although I actually like the latter - but your own) I would say probably yes, but I guess the name evokes - at least to me - some kind of quick process, and I want to make sure I can pick my own logos.

no problem - just replace the logo.png with your own one.

    Hi there,

how do you mean that ? Quickpwn doesn't do anything to the baseband at all, that's bootneuter that does that and bootneuter is not part of the Quickpwn process.

Did you mean that? It could come up the impression that quickpwn avoids/hinders baseband updates, which is definately not the case.

Default Custom Boot/Restore images with QuickPwn

If you're on a Mac, right click on QuickPwn.app and go to Show Contents. Now go to Contents -> Resources. In there you'll see a bunch of files, including logo.png and recovery.png. All you need to do is replace those with the images you want to use, then run QuickPwn. It'll give you an error and say something like "I HAZ FAILED" if there's something wrong with the PNG files you put in there so make sure you set the transparency and all that.
