Hi, i restored my 2g iphone with custom 2.1 firmware but I have no wi-fi working. The menu is grey and there is a message "no wi-fi". Suggestions

Weird. There is a greyed out wifi fix from the devs, but that fix came out a long time ago to patch the damage produced by ziphone on many machines. Those were still 1.1.4 days, I am not sure it is applicable here. I guess people can help you if you provide more info on your machine, what was its state before restoring custom 2.1, previous hacking history, etc.

i've got the same problem, a friend wants me to help with his iphone, 2g v 1.1.4 wifi is greyed out..What can I do to fix this? should i upgrade to 2.1 and see if it will fix it?

I spent last 3 days doing something to solve my wifi problem. A lot of people got this issue. This my experience:

1) Since I pwned with 2.0 firmware my wifi become unstable: it appears for some minutes a day then disappears, it's unusable!
2) Before 2.0 I was on 1.1.2 unlocked with anysim and all worked flawlessly.
3) Never used Ziphone
4) I've tryed to downgrade firmware to 1.1.2 again, letting baseband to 04.05.04 and all works: wifi, calls and bluetooth. So I think the problem is not on pwnage or on bootneuter and how it unlocks the baseband.
5) There a lot of posts on Apple iPhone official forum that talks about the same issues I'got: unstable wifi, missed calls (iphone doesn't ring and shows incorrect missed call time). All those troubles are regarding customers that haven't unlocked their phones.

CONCLUSION

1) I don't think it's a Ziphone problem.
2) I don't think it's a Pwnage problem.
3) I think it's something regarding new 2.0 Apple firmware (i's the same on 2.1) that got some bugs talking to the baseband (old firmware works with new baseband).
4) Or maybe me and other people got some hardware issues (a stock of faulty boards) that appears only on latest firmware.

Anyone solved?

if anyone knows a tutorial on how to fix this please show us the right direction. I would like to upgrade my 1.1.4 to see if this will fix the no wifi problem but not sure if it will. I would like to do it right the first time to avoid making the problem worst.

I've tryied different firmware version. My experience is that all troubles starts from 1.1.4. If you downgrade to 1.1.2 (maybe 1.1.3 it's ok) you'll probably have your wifi back. There are a lot of tutorials to show how to downgrade.

i just PWNED my friends iphone earlyer today and when it had finished the whole process, i checked and saw that the wifi was greyed out. all i did was i turn the phone off then turned it back on and wifi was working.
