Default PwnageTool2.2 "Enable baseband update" greyed out

Is it only for me, or do you guys have the same: In Expert Mode/General the option "Enable baseband update" is greyed out when creating custom IPSW for the iPhone3g. I want it off (to preserve the baseband for possible future unlock), but i'm not sure I'm doing it right.
    Please advise
    Thanks

It's forced off and greyed out so you can't change it. To prevent accidental bb upgrade.

So what about people who actually want to update their baseband, because they have an already unlocked iPhone? How can I activate it?

alternatively you can use xpwntool to decrypt the ramdisk and then edit /usr/local/share/restore/options.plist so that UpdateBaseband is set to 1, if you really wanted to update it.

None really. There is no drawback in not doing it but a possible significant in doing so.

Biggest downfall of updating to the new BB at this point would be for a delay in future software unlock for your phone. They are already working on an unlock for the current baseband so obviously upgrading to the new baseband would just delay things. I'm sure eventually there will be a software for the new baseband but right now everyone is still working on the current on
