Here's the story. Used Pwnage 1.0 (ipwner + ispw builder) to fully unlock the phone and have 1.1.4 firmware working.

Pwnage 1.1 released with 'bug fixes'. So I decide to upgrade. So I didn't use the ipwner (because it was already ipwned with pwnage 1.0) and instead just created the custom firmware with the ispw builder.

So I restored the phone with the newly created 1.1.4 firmware. The problem is that installer crashes all the time. Even after restarts. Thankfully I had the firmware created by pwnage 1.0, which when restored works fine. But why wouldn't the installer in the firmware created by pwnage 1.1 work?

have you update the installer to the latest version 3.1 because the new version of installer is crashing on me

check the permissions of installer

pwnage 1.1 comes with an installer, (which i presume automatically works). Without installer there is no way of turning on OpenSSH or install another installer.

There is no permission issue. You have to remember that when the installer doesn't start up, there is no way to ssh in or check other stuff on the phone. What I really want is someone who's used pwnage 1.0 on their iPhone, but also used pwnage 1.1 upgrade.

I need a little detail on the process.

I assume with pwnage 1.0 you did the entire process (ipwner + ispw builder)

When you used 1.1, did you do the entire process (ipwner + ispw builder) over again? or just restored the phone onto the newer hacked firmware (ispw builder only) created by Pwnage 1.1

Just start installer from mobile finder , check permissions, and works find, only the first time, then you can start installer from the icon.

The ONLY app on this thing is installer. (ie its right after the firmware restore that the issues happens) And when your installer crashes, that rules out any other app, including MobileFinder or Terminal or OpenSSH. Now you can see how screwed I really am.

After start installer keep touching the screen , this was a solition for me in the past, if not , use iliberty + or equal for windows and install ssh, bsd etc. etc
