Default [PwnageTool] How to restore a Pwned iPhone

    Hi all,

On the day of the PwnageTool v1.0 release I pwned my iPhone. Eveverything wen t great and I am now on: -

    BootLoader - 3.9
    Firmware - 1.1.4 (4A102)
    Modem Version - 04.04.05_G

I have recently installed a dodgy application and need to restore my iPhone. My question is do I need to complete the whole Pwnage process again.

Or as I still have my custom firmware can I just restore in iTunes using the custom firmware?

    Cheers.

Ok, so I don't need to re-run iPwner from the PwnageTool?

Therefore you are saying once you have ran iPwner once your iPhone is always Pwned? If that is the case how do you return your iPhone to its original state?

    Thanks for the quick information.

restore to a regular apple ipsw to return to factory state, however if you switched bootloaders you would switch that back to the one you started with then restore to the regular ipsw.............

    Thanks for the information.

I have not switched BootLoaders as I have a US week 33 iPhone that came has version 3.9.

Therefore just to double confirm before I click the button I can just restore with my custom firmware via iTunes with no issues to have my iPhone - activated, jailbroken and unlocked again?

I DO NOT have to re-run the PwnageTool at any time?

Cheers all, I know it must seem like your having to spoon feed me but I left the scene for a while and as you know things move on quite fast round here.

No problem. If you just use iTunes to restore with the custom firmware you made, you are all set. No need to use PwnageTool again.
If you want a different custom firmware file e.g. with other custom logo, additional program bundles, carrier bundles etc you just use PwnageTool to create a new custom firmware file with the button "IPWS Builder" and use that one with iTunes.
You never have to pwn your iPhone again, this is done once you first pwnaged your iPhone.

so just use itunes, restore to your custom firmware and you are set.
