How about No Wifi?
Hey guys,
I did the jailbreak to Firmware 2.2 on my 1st gen 2G iPhone that was originally running on 1.0.2. Since my upgrade, I've lost my Wifi and Bluetooth. I've been told to downgrade to 1.1.4, fix the broadband something, then re-upgrade back to 2.2. I haven't tried this yet because I want to check if there are other options. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the no WIFI issue? My Wifi on my iPhone is completely greyed out so I can't even select it. Does anyone know how this happened in the first place?
Also, is it true that after you've jailbreak iPhones, the battery life is never the same? I noticed that my battery life is much much worst.
Please help. I'm losing sleep over this...ahhh....

I did two phones with the latest PwnageTool to put firmware 2.2.1 unlocked. The first phone, which never was run through PwnageTool (but had been unlocked in an older firmware via an older method) when fine.
The second phone had a prior unlocking with PwnageTool for firmware 2.1 and I was upgrading it to firmware 2.2.1. Since I saw the message "Has your iPhone been Pwned before (does it have the pineapple logo)? If you are unsure click No.", I figured I would just reuse the custom 2.2.1 firmware I made for the first 2.2.1 phone and disregard the fact the second phone was unlocked. I ended up getting this error in iTunes
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600)"
I remade the custom firmware and the same thing happened again. The only thing that saved me from having a brick was to do a QuickPwn on the phone.
My question is - why did I experience this, if the instructions say its OK to say your phone is not pwned, even if it is?
Secondly, in using PwnageTool, in cases where it goes into DFU mode, I discovered I cannot do the iTunes loading of the firmware phase unless I have iTunes connected to the internet to check the device type. Is Apple finding out who the unlockers are this way?
This might matter if they convince the Copyright Office to non renew the DMCA exemption that makes unlocking phones legal. According to news articles at places such as CNET and Ars Technica, the exemption was a three year deal starting in 2006 and later this year, unlocking may become illegal. I am aware that Apple has complained their copyright is being violated because PwnageTool copies and alters the firmware and boot loaders etc. And I know the EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) is on our side.

Hello, I am trying to unlock my 2G Iphone just like everybody else. My problem is a little different I believe...
I have had this phone unlocked before in the past (about 6 months ago) and I used the Pwnage Tool to do so. I recently sold the phone, so was going to restore it, update the software, and re-pwn it using all freshly downloaded and upgraded software (both Pwnage Tool and Iphone software).
Everything in the process works just as it should, until I come to the DFW mode. The Pwnage tool says the Iphone is in DFU mode, but Itunes still does not recognize it. The phone is not bricked, as it will come out of DFU mode if the home+power buttons are both held/pressed. Can anyone give me some tips? I have tried the QuickPWN Tool as well, and it stalls after DFU mode as well on "writing software for your iphone..."
Thanks in advance, I have also included a screenie of my issue for further clarification.

HELP...Pleeze
Hello everyone. I have a new USA apple replacement 2G year 2008 week 37
Version 2.0.2 (5C1)
Modem Firmware 04.05.04_G
I had it connected with att for 1 month to verify that the phone was working, and then it has been sitting unused for about 6 months.
I would like to use it with my T-Mobil service.
Can someone please help tell me how to do this. Pardon my ignorance but I am confused and do not want to mess up.
I have access to mac with both ppc and intel and also pc with windows.
Are there issues with the version or the modem firmware currently on my iphone? Do I need to use a specific version of iTunes or is the latest ok?
THANKS
