You don't have to but you can do so if you want. If your phone was originally 4.6, then you can change it back from 3.9FB to 4.6 neutered.
Tutorial for using pwnagetool 2.0.3.1 have been posted many time. Just do a search.

Thank you very much.
I read the FAQ but didn't find information regarding the 3.9 FB Bootloader. And yes, it was 4.6 originally.
Thanks.

Quick Question
I pwned my Iphone 2G using pwnage 2.0.2 with firmware 2.0.1. I see that the pwnage 2.0.3.1 is now available. Is there a benefit to going to firmware 2.0.2? In order to do this, do I just go through the same process I did the first time but just use the new IPSW and update my Itunes to the current version? Do I need to do anything to my Iphone to re-pwn since it is already pwned? Thanks in advance.

Error 1604
I don't know if anyone has told this before, and I've got no time to read the full thread.
I was stuck at error 1604 for a while and I got to recover the phone using a clean itunes 7.5 install on a windows machine, and then restoring apples 1.1.4 firmware from it.
Hope it helps someone on the same situation.

DO NOT PWN!
there is new software coming out that will only be for un-jailbroken iphones. This app is gonna change everything, so I would wait!
read about it here:

Amazingly Knowledgeable
Array
Bootloaders are changable and unlockable using pwnagetool and bootneuter on the original iPhone so it wasn't worth mentioning them.
iTunes 8 will NOT allow you to pwn/restore using pwned firmwares as Apple have fixed iTunes to stop it.
The iPhone DevTeam have a way to "patch" itunes and will release it I imagine with the 2.1 jailbreak next week sometime.
iPhone US 8GB
FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
iPhone UK 16GB
FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!
<----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)

I realize this is just a weak attempt at spam or FUD, but it brings up an amusing point.
A third-party application from the App Store is by definition unable to check if the current device is pwned or jailbroken. In order to test for that, it would need to break some of the rules of a jailed application, which would then cause it to get booted from the App Store.

It also says that i need to connect an iphone so im guessing it can not detect my iphone. The Ipwner thing also does not come up for me to click it.
Any Help for this would be greatly appreciated, i already had to spend 4 hours restoring and reconfiguring my iphone i would like to know how to fix this before i try again.
Edit 1: I have vista if it has anything to do with it.
Could be a bug with your firmware build.
un-check it if it lets you and try again.
But if its already activated and the phone is on an official contract there is no reason for there to be no signal except the firmware being buggy as far as I can see.
So build another firmware would be my advice.
