[PwnageTool] BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0
I got to the "Started Pwning" phase, and then nothing happened for a long ass time.
I hit the power button on my iphone, and it goes into a long phase with scrolling text like
"AppleMRVL868x Loading Main Program"
and whatnot.
Then it goes in and just repeats:
"BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0"
When I unplug it, I get the message "AppleS5L8900XIpodeHAL:: message IOIpodUBDevice::gated_message cable removed, stopping stack"
When I plug it in again, I get a bunch of text and "IOIpodUSBDevice::startIpodStack can't start! Need configuration"
This sounds really bad.
I can't turn off the ipod. If I hold home and power, the screen goes blank.
It doesn't get recognized by itunes.
Is there a fix? What the hell happened?

Have you tried entering DFU or restore mode? There is a difference, check the link in my sig for directions.

The BSD issue can be fixed by restoring.
So try that - Always try restoring - it ALWAYS works.
iPhone US 8GB
FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
iPhone UK 16GB
FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

DFU will save you. Search the forums and you will be ok.

I am having the same problem. I have a 1.1.4 16gb iphone, was using iliberty + and the cord was knocked out while it was running. I have tried to get it into the restore modes you advised, I even set up a timer. Here is what happens, I start with a screen full of writing, I hold both buttons the apple pops up while I am holding the two buttons then goes away before I release the power button, the screen stays dark after I release the home buton but everytime I plug in the cable the apple pops up and I get all the lines of information and it ends at BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0
Please let me know what I am doing wrong.
Thank you

Your meant to have the cable plugged in and itunes on BEFORE you press the buttons down and keep holding the home button.
It won't restore otherwise!

Not a very safe thing to do, its like flashing your bios and unplugging the power.
Keep trying to get into DFU, hopefully if you can it will get sorted.
In the future I would recommend to be more attentive, and try to avoid any distractions so the cord doesn't get "knocked out" during the short process of unlocking or pwning. I have seen too many people mess their phones up by halfheartedly downloading a tool and just clicking without any thought of what their doing.
Sorry Keagily, I am not trying to chastise you, Hopefully other people will read this or other warnings at this forum before they just jump in and "click".
Your at the right place though if it can be fixed your going to get the answer here.

Spinstorm and viper Thank You Thank You Thank You
I finally got the phone in DFU (I started itunes, plugged it in, I held the power down, it shut off, waited 5 seconds, held power and home down for 10 seconds, released power, released home 10 seconds later, screen stayed black and it popped up in Itunes), I was able to restore.
Your help and advice is greatly appreciated. I do try to be careful, but accidents do happen and at the worst times. I WILL be extra extra careful in the future.
Thanks again, you guys Rock.

Trust me IT ALWAYS WORKS!
You just have to get the timing right!
I suggest you do a search on youtube for recovery mode and watch a video of it so you can get it right!
But DON'T WORRY! IT will work when you get the tricky timing right!
Even I have trouble doing it and I know what I am doing!
