    • Wifi via Certificate & Radius
    • Exchange (That I can only access while connected to above Wifi)
    • VPN (that connects but doesn't work )
    • New Appstore apps
    • New Cydia & SSH
    • iPhone 2.0 firmware

    Exchange & Wifi
My particular setup, an enterprise WPA2 Radius server with certificate based authentication, ate through the battery. The phone was fine throughout the night when it couldn't hit Exchange, so my theory of constantly looking for Exchange is incorrect. VPN Not tested because it doesn't work through my company.

I cannot test Exchange without this Wifi, so I don't know what's causing it. In theory I could test just the Wifi, but there's no point in it for me. Others should test removing Exchange settings and seeing if it helps.

I've already started a test with push(exchange) set to off and cydia and ssh installed but turned off via bossprefs(which came out today). Why don't you start your tests by installing SSH and have it active? Make sure you connect at least one time and don't reboot after that.
I'm going to test the Appstore apps next since my phone doesn't have Cydia right now. Find anything with Cydia and SSH?

I don't seem to see it in the options.
I didn't see in the payload stuff.
you can install it via cydia afterward.

So far, it looks bad but ... not that bad. I'm about to complete 24 hours after charge and the battery is below the halfway point with very mild use. That is with push off.

I know that with this kind of use I would have more than half in 1.1.4.

One thing that crossed my mind is that they might have altered the battery indication. In 1.1.4, it would drop much faster after you get to 50%. I'm going to wait a little more and see what happens but unfortunately this test has been a little unconclusive for me.

my battery life has gone up -- drastically. i get about 3 days for moderate usage since i upgraded

(note, i used the winpwn 1.1.4 steps, ran bootneuter from installer, and then installed the 2.0 winpwn file built on a mac using the shift + restore option in itunes)

I'd consider this not that bad too. My 1.1.4 I'd use about 3 hours a day as an iPod, and do some surfing, talking, and emailing. It would get low, but it wouldn't hit the 20% mark (on a usual day) for even 48 hours. So that's the benchmark I'm going for. Everyone will be slightly different, but I can get this just fine with a "blank" iPhone 2.0.

I may be crazy on this one -- have you noticed the little battery showing a different mark than the big battery indicator? I like to use the half point as an indicator too - and sometimes the little one will show less than half remaining, but the big battery is more than half way. Could be my eyes playing tricks on me...

That's pretty much the use I usually have. After a charge in the morning I was able to go until the next night.

What do you mean by big indicator ? If you mean the charging one then yes, once you plug it in , it goes up instantly, it has to do with the voltage flowing in the battery. If you're talking about the white one vs the green one (both small) then I too think they are showing slightly different indications but it could be my eyes playing tricks.

As I'm leaving for vacations, I think I'll go ahead and repwn and restore. I might upgrade to BL 4.6 just to rule that out as well.

Seems to me like I get half the battery life with 2.0, must be push. I will try tomorrow with all push and updates turned off and see if it makes a difference.

I have my battery issues solved by re-flashing the BL and baseband down to 3.9 and back to 4.6.
(also see my battery issue thread HERE with a detailed explanation.

However, 3 days is (and also was with 1.1.4) completely out of reach. This is only possible without Wifi, right??
