just a FYI
I have Cydia and OpenSSH on and notice no difference in battery at all (since 1.1.4)
Everything seems dandy, I haven't set up my mail; I believe that is your culprit though after reading through this.

[Pwnage 2.0] battery usage
What are people getting for the battery usage?? I am running 2.0 on a previously ZiPhoned 1.1.4 1st generation iPhone. I never had to use pwnage tool since it was already unlocked. I upgraded using ithors custom firmware. I also have Cydia installed. My usage was 4 hours and 35 mins before the 20% warning, is this ridiculous or what? I've never had good usage when I was on 1.1.4 either. Is there something wrong with my battery or is there generally low usage for those who jailbreak/unlock there phones. So what is everyone else's usage at?

I had this - restored with/without cydia/ssh etc.
Tried with mail/no mail
Still crap but then I restored again without restoring my old 1.1.4 iPhone backup and it's working fine now

Well, jailbroken/unlocked phones have the same battery life as the others as jailbreaking and unlocking does not affect the battery. The battery is affected by background apps running (if any) for example- OpenSSH in the background. And specially for 2.0, the Push takes a lot of battery so you can goto Preferences and change the Fetch refresh time to Manual. I'll check my battery times and will update this post soon.......

this has nothing to do with Pwnagetool
The battery usage level is just larger on firmware 2.0
Code is not as optimized as before
Push settings runing in the background

Totally agree
Ive just whacked my wifi off, push off and dimmed the screen slightly. Its nearly 100% recharged and I will do a proper test today noting down the exact time.
I noticed yesterday when playing a game the battery flew down.
Anyhow fully charge and test your batterys for comparison - I will post back when dead (could be a few hrs lol)

How does push use more than fetch?
Push should have additional battery savings in relation to fetch????

I have turned off SSH using BossPrefs and I have noticed a big improvement in battery time.

Does WinPwn install SSH?
I don't seem to see it in the options.

I just got a notice from App Store that there is an update to BubbleWrap, one of my free app.
I did not even touch the App Store button, but it seems that the application checks for updates automatically... Could be one of the reason for the battery drain... since it's doing that in the background...
Any way to turn that off in App Store?
